10 Things You May NOT Know About Me

1.  I was once SCUBA certified.  During my second year of college my family took a trip to FL to become scuba divers.  The crazy thing is I'm pretty nervous around water.  I only went down 30 feet and passed the class.

2.  Mornings are my very favorite time of day.  I especially look forward to being alone in my big chair with a cup of coffee and the devotional book- Drawing Near by John MacArthur.

3.  Cleaning the house makes me feel good.  I like the immediate gratification I get from it.  My first year of teaching I took a sick day and spent the entire day cleaning the apartment with my roommate.  That was a good day!

4.  Although I like to clean, taking out the trash makes me sick...even on a non-pregnant day.  Josh was gone during most of my pregnancy.  O what fun that was.

5.  I eat oatmeal for breakfast every day.

6.  I grew up in a log cabin deep in the woods of NC, twenty minutes away from the nearest grocery store, and we had no cable tv.

7.  The dumbest thing I ever bought was our Mercury Mountaineer.  We paid for it twice.  Once when we bought it and then again with all the repairs.  AND it doesn't have four wheel drive.  I'll listen to my husband next time.

8.  I've had a lot of  different jobs.  Check out girl at Food Lion, Mortgage Debt Collector at Wachovia, First grade teacher, Nanny, Mother.

9.  I want more kids, but I don't want to be pregnant again.

10.  Couponing is my most recent obsession.  It satisfies my need to shop and my competitive spirit.

New to the blogging world

As you can tell by this very first post, I'm new to the blogging world!

This morning I told Josh I was thinking of starting a blog and he laughed.  He's always laughing at me... I finally got it out of him that he thinks it's a waste of time.  I don't agree.  I read blogs daily.  I learn a lot from them.  Mostly I learn parenting tips, new recipes, and where all the good deals are.  Sometimes a post will make me laugh and occasionally I am inspired.

So here I go...any helpful hints are welcome.
